International tourism will bring the Turkish economy $117 billion

The forecast of the World Travel and Tourism Council shows that that by 2032 the contribution of the tourism industry to Turkey's GDP could reach almost 117 billion US dollars, which is 11 percent of the total economy. The sector is also expected to create more than 716,000 new jobs over the next decade. 

Tourism's share of GDP is projected to increase by 15.5 percent by the end of this year to almost $68.5 billion, or 8.3 percent of the country's economy, while employment in the sector will grow by 4 percent to reach more than 2.5 million jobs. 

Latest booking data flights in Europe show that in this year's high summer season, Turkey will become the fourth most popular European resort among sun-seeking travelers. The tourist flow will be divided between Istanbul, as well as the seaside resorts of Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman.
